The modular constituents
How signatures are built.
Polysemy is not one flat label: each sense is a primitive signature — a small composition of cognitive primitives (image schemas + basic domains, Evans & Green 2006) projected onto a target domain. This network shows the modularity directly: the primitives are the hubs, and each signature they build up selects a Vietnamese morpheme. Click a node to read how it is composed and the real words it produces.
A node's size shows its weight — how many signatures a primitive licenses, how much support a
signature carries. A signature drawn from two primitives (e.g. VERTICALITY + CONTAINER)
links to both. Polarity marks the pole on an axis (+ marked / − complement
/ 0 medial); force-dynamic and identity signatures are non-axial. Drawn live from the
English–Vietnamese Analytical Mapping database (verified mappings only).
